POLICEWOMAN CHARGED WITH TAMPERING REPORT By Amie PDH Ishak. Taken from Borneo Bulletion in October 22, 2009

A corporal with the Royal Brunei Police Force was yesterday brought to the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for allegedly tampering with a Police Record Book.
The charges were read to the defendant but no plea was taken.
Corporal 2969 Jariah Amat was charged with framing a Police Record Book, which she knew to be incorrect, by writing down the name of a different person instead of the name of the real driver who was involved in a road traffic accident on May 30, 2007, an offence under Section 218 of the Penal Code, Chapter 7.
This incident happened at the vicinity of the Tutong Police Station.
The defendant allegedly made the report with an intent to save the said driver from legal punishment.
The defendant was released on bail of $1,500 or one local surety pending the next mention on November 4 at 10am. If found guilty, the defendant will be imprisoned for a term which may extend up to three years, or could be fined, or both.
